meet Natural Balance Day Spa
Laurie and Adam Dierstein are bringing Virginia Beach a luxury spa experience at Natural Balance Day Spa. Laurie, Adam and their skilled team are rethinking day spas, creating a space to reconnect and recharge. It’s an oasis away from stress and overwhelm - yet right near home.
This Virginia Beach spa all started with Laurie’s belief that mind, body, and soul are all central to wellness. A trained therapist, Laurie is founder of REBOOT, which brings together yoga, therapy, health + nutrition coaching and personal training all under one roof.
Her husband Adam is a firefighter, so he knows the importance of de-stressing and taking care of yourself - so you can be at your best when it counts.
Stay for the day or stop by for a little R+R, Natural Balance Day Spa is a little bliss by the beach. Natural Balance Day Spa is a relaxation staycation - here for you to tap into some me-time to improve your mental health and overall wellbeing.
Stacy, LMT, A.S.
Stacy specializes in integrative massage, which means she uses techniques from many different styles/modalities of massage to address individual needs. Each session is customized. For Stacy, her work is about practicing good self-care. She loves it when she gets to be part of that journey for her clients.
“I really love seeing my clients move from a place of stress and pain towards a happier, healthier life as they gain self-awareness and take control of their health and well being,” says Stacy.
Right now, Stacy is working on her bachelors in pre-medical biology at ODU with the intention of transferring to EVMS. She plans to become a physician-scientist and work in biomedical research as it relates to neurological dysfunction and mental illness.
When she’s not studying, Stacy paints abstract paintings and plays bass. She also has a crew of fluffy friends, including Centavo the rex rabbit, Foxy the Pomeranian and Princess Hoppy Mop the lion head rabbit who has the personality to match.
Leah, Licensed Esthetician
Leah began her career after experiencing her own skin issues, and realizing the difference between great and not-so-great skin care professionals. For Leah, proper education is key to resolving skin issues.
“Educating clients about and helping them with their skin problems, especially acne, which I’ve suffered from my whole life,” says Leah. She understands through experience that troubled skin is uncomfortable to live with, and it affects one’s daily life.
When she’s not working you can find her spending time with her husband, and her two pups who love the beach just as much as she does.
Charise, Master Esthetician
Charise specializes in a number of advanced treatments, including Infusion Peels, Microderms, Dermaplaning, MicroCurrent, Ultrasound Therapy and Hi-Frequency. Each session is customized to the client’s individual needs, as her priority is to provide the best facial for the client’s skin type. For Charise, she loves watching a client’s face light up after seeing the results from a session.
“It's so incredible to see my clients follow through with the at-home care I recommend and plan with them,” says Charise. “Their results are just amplified, and that makes everyone happy.”
For Charise, the most rewarding part of her work is seeing those who suffer with acne have clear skin, and those with sun damage to have spots fade away. She loves that she gives her clients an opportunity to “unplug” and focus on themselves for a while.
When she’s not working you can find her attending music festivals, broadway shows or snuggling on the couch with her rescue dog, Max. As a military spouse of 18 years and counting, she’s been able to visit places like Japan and England - and had the opportunity to learn about skincare philosophies from all around the world.
Michael, LMT, began his career after realizing his dream to work in a health-related environment. He’s passionate about helping his clients reach their optimal health goals, ranging from relaxation to clinical applications.
As a lifelong learner, Michael loves to explore new techniques from his coworkers and other professionals in the field. When it comes to clients, Michael makes de-stressing, relaxing and unwinding a top priority.
Michael also enjoys that his career allows for a suitable work/life balance, as family and friends are very important to him. When he’s not working, you can find him attending Americana concerts or writing jazz music. He’s an avid reader of speculative fiction, and a huge fan of New England sports. Spending time with his son brings him so much joy, along with hanging out with his 17 year old cat, Maverick.
Rachel, Licensed Master Esthetician
Rachel, Licensed Master Esthetician, began her career in makeup, but soon realized her passion was for skincare. Her dream of helping clients with their skin, rather than covering it up, became reality. Rachel loves being able to make changes to her clients’ skin and make them instantly feel better about their concerns.
Rachel loves scoping out the best local places to eat - as well as stamping her passport while traveling the world with her husband.
